Commission Transcript Mistake on
Age Discrimination Statement

The Commission transcript of the Union President's Age Discrimination statement was not transcribed accurately.  The agency mistakenly added the word "If" before the Presidents statement changing the statement of fact to an incomplete hypothetical statement without a IF-Then finishing clause.  

The Union President stated:

"We had a senior office director make a comment about hiring a young deputy."

The transcript reflected:

"If we had a senior office director make a comment about hiring a young deputy."

When notified, the agency promptly corrected the transcript but Angela Bolduc from Human Resources refused to issue a retraction.  Read or listen to the statement from the links below and establish your own opinion on the scope of edits that should be permissible for Commission meeting transcripts.
